Monday, January 30, 2006 Gong Xi Fa Cai Wooh! This ecstatic young man wishes everyone out there a Happy CNY! New Year's Eve was spent in a special way this year.. Went to watch I Not Stupid Too with my Father, 2 sisters and cute little 7 year old cousin. Cute. Movie critics don't say much to glamourise this film like King Kong and Narnia, and some even say it's preachy.. and yes.. although I agree to that, that would be looking at the commercial value of the film. What struck me as the film progressed was it's fantastic representation of the myriad of social problems faced into Singapore society. Albeit a little exagerration, the film achieved it's objective and J team Productions get a decent score from me this time. Wooh.. I sound like a movie critic.. Anywyay.. I loved those social issuses Jack neo portrayed, and of course the way he did it. There was family problems, crime and failures in the Singapore Education System. The central theme of family problems was the most tear jerking and made up the core of the show. I strongly recommend everyone to go watch it with their families.. It really gets you thinking into how your own family functions and how u can play your part as a parent, child and sibling. Pray that everyone with problems at home would have theirs eyes opened and tinted glasses removed- this movie's a blessing. The problems of education also struck a nice church organ chord with me. We have RIGID PRINCIPALS and TEACHERS(-IN-CHARGE) who must always follow the rules running amok in our schools!! Save our students before they all resign themselves to accepting whatever nonsense these people throw at them and stop fighting for what is best for the students anymore. Let's all conform to what's best for everyone and be a considerate student while killing our interests and restricting ourselves to the path of TEACHER-INDUCED ANNIHILATION. Just as the Chinese teacher in the film smothered his students' flame for learning chinese by sticking strictly to inflexible rules. Afterall they're the bigshots and we are disallowed from challenging their supreme authority. Muahaha.. Let's hear that evil laughter. NOT. Maybe that's why we have great leader's every generation.. Coz the generation who led them were quite defunct and they had to fight for what was best for their people. U can see that there's lots of training for that going on in a certain band of brother's (and sister's too). Give me some evaluation k? =) Thank you! http://www.davidglosz.com/sajccb.html (1st draft) We are the Saint Andrew's Junior College Concert Band. Up and on! a ranting by Eugene at 12:06 AM |
