Wednesday, December 31, 2003 Band It's been an interesting 4 months working with you. BUT! There's always a but.. The following problems have to be tackled next year, and I mean it. Discipline/Attitude Problems 1) Attendence - Punctuality and people who often don't come. 2) Courtesy - Talking while others are speaking, tuning. 3) Complaining - A task that's a little difficult will start everyone complaining. 4) Cleanliness - Band room's in a big mess. 5) Attire - Shirts tucked out, bright socks, moderately messy arrangement of shoes. 6) Individual Practice - Play your instrument regularly and read up on instrument tone, care, embrochure etc. Music 1) Same thing, Individual Practice - Play your instrument regularly and read up on instrument tone, care, embrochure etc. 2) Muscality - Put expression in your music. 3) Sectionals - SLs, unify the music. 4) Tuning - Always listen within the section, other sections and the whole band. 5) Tuning - Learn to tune faster by understanding how to tune the instrument, read up. 6) High Notes, Scales, Chromatic Scales, Arpeggios - Do them often to improve technique and sight-reading. 7) Tone - Do long tones and listen to professional recordings. 8) Pulse - Marching and meteronome. 9) Theory - Read up and ask. 10) Roll - Practise often to get a cleaner roll. General - to be put in place 1) Uniform 2) Drills 3) Key 4) Instruments 5) Leave application Form 6) Individual Practice Records 7) Library 8) Inventory - Tuners, stands, chairs 9) Treasury records 10) Future Leaders a ranting by Eugene at 4:24 AM New Year's Eve It's the last day of the year and i'm sad, extremely sad. Another batch of Sec 4s have left. But, they're just not another batch.. They are THE batch. Surprisingly, there weren't many tears during the farewell party today.. But if i just be a little emo. I gave 6 presents to the 6 most special people to me, from the sec 4 batch today. What I've written there is not even the tip of the iceberg.. There is so much more I want to express and thank you guys for. Actually I'm quite extra you know.. One of the few sec 3 guys who hang around with you all. When the clock strikes 12 tomorrow, I won't be able to spend as much time with you guys. I won't be able to Say Hi to Wei Jian when I walk pass the classes. Cannot walk around with Lily and Alan during curriculum time. Won't be seeing Audrey waving at me like so Aunty (but that's the way I like it) like that. No more Yo! Chong Hu and Rickson when I pass the window. Can't sing you are my sunshine to Aaron and do the mouth thing *Phuack*. I won't be riding on Wang Quan piggyback. I want to continue to push and shove Guang Rong when we meet outside the office. Luckily still got Juling's cookies! Yumm.. I'll miss all of you so much.. The next one year will be so empty. Don't (brackets) me yet.. still got things to say. Thank You to the following people for enriching my life this year.
