Band camp

4 beautiful days and 3 tiring nights just passed in the blink of an eye. First there was the PSL camp. Honestly, i'm not as active in Peer Support as much as i'm involved in band. Coz i dun noe the ppl there, but it has its advantages. I got to know Rickson, Guang Rong, Wei Liang, Lijun and Kalaiselvam s/o Panesilvam (Selvam) better. Thanks for making me feel more accepted. Then in the evening, there was a rush to Juling's place. Even though i was 20 mins late it was quite ok coz Aaron was like 2 hours late? Juling's place was the ultimate place of information..i came to know of many things there, which will not be divulged to ppl who were not present. And there's Chicken Rice War. The show-to-watch that night, actually, morning. The show finished at about 2+ and i couldn't sleep!!! So Zat organised this little private game of truth for himself, Aaron, me and Justin. My opinion of Justin---Very easy to talk to, I dun feel restricted when i'm toking to him. I can tell him things i dun usually tok about but it's not so easy with some of my other friends considering that that was the first time i was having a real chat with him.

Next morn, Everyone seemed to have lost something in Juling's neat-turned-messy living room. Anyway, we were on our way at 6am and bumped into bandits at almost every bustop to school. The first day went rather smoothly, with the first band prac in history that went up to almost midnight. Besides some scolding which dampened the spirit a little, the drills that followed got the enthusiasm back in track. In how many bands do u see players in the middle of the hall performing(i hope) ar and a line of other players marching all over like a snake.Totally the coolest drills ever!!
And there was the games. Band spirit soared then, but something dangerous was also taking place...

SOME SEC ONE'S WERE NOT PARTICIPATING

Back to the games..
What's with Jeevan?
If there were a best camper award he would be the recepient-without competition. He's by far the most enthusiastic and mental individual in the camp. His constant cheering and screaming, was a great contributing factor to the enthusiasm displayed by everyone else. In short, he's like coffee beans, spreading cheer around the boiling water (us).
And dun keep on saying the "husband and wife" thing was on purpose..maybe it was partially lah, but i was more distracted, k?

What was Li Keng there for??? ;)

Day 2 saw everone getting up punctually and prepared for PT. I'm so surprised that i didn't push Selvam (who was sleeping next to me) on the floor. Anyway, that PT was the lightest PT ever. Nothing harsh and exerting.
"Audition" was horrible. Look at us.How many passed? Next year's main band is in trouble.Especially my batch's clarinets.
The highlight of the day, undisputedly, was the rehearsal at the parade square in the middle of the night. It was a good experience, maybe one of the best and wierdest practices i've ever been to, romantic for some (not me). =X

Day 3 of the camp was so so lah..
Eddie tan was very emotionally disturbed when we put up that unprepared rehearsal filled with anger gushing out. The second time round, all those anti-band ppl should have gone to kiss the flowers and kicked themselves, especially mushroom-head.
Next up, the beary perfromance by Victoria and friends was unbelievable... I wouldn't have been able to come up with that rap-cum-nursery- rhyme, they get 10 upon 10 for creativity from me.

"Actually there were very little games, and that made the ppl treasure them"
-Tan Wei Jian

This is so very true.

If the games were present in abundance everyone would take them for granted and participation would be minimal. A point for all future camp organisers to take note of.

What else did i learn?

The smile of a friend (in love) is more precious than that Gold everyone is trying to attain.
Thank u for helping me relise that. U know hu u r..;)

And also, thank you everyone who helped make this band camp an enjoyable one for me.
