1st Day of the New Year

I didn't know i had so many relatives...especially on my father's side.
My pri 3 cousin named Samuel was given the job of counting the no. of ppl in my father's mother's sister-in-law's, aka my grandaunt-in-law's flat and was given $1 for every name...guess what....he got $50.
My generation is really growing up.10 years ago all the cousins(about 15 small kids) would be running around playing catching or hide and seek, now only those in primary school and below are doing that(about 5 small kids).Families nowadays are really getting smaller...
Every year the new year routine in my home is the same...wake up, father's side comes over for lunch and set off in a small line towards the yearly gathering point.
Next destination is my mother's side...reach there and watch TV together, have dinner together and watch TV again, together.
I'm really lucky to have so many relatives...so many that i don't even know some of them...and additions are arriving all the time...
I found out that one of my distant cousins is in VS band playing clarinet, and is performing at the Istana like, on Monday...

Is the whole band going to Mr. Wong's house on Mon?I can still vividly remember how the whole band walked there last year...will that happen this year?Everyone no matter how big or small sized, tall or short, gd or bad, bitchy or not walked there...so many ppl that we arrived in two big groups to greet billowing smoke from those tame firecrackers which were not so tame after all...what time are we meeting, where, how many ppl...i still dunno....
Anyway, i wish everyone a happy new year filled with excess fish and increased height for every step taken(especially for Tim) :)

New Year's Eve

So long nv update liao...these few nights very busy ah...
Just came back from the "reunion lunch" at Pizza Hut.It took 1 hour to get a seat...
In the 1 hour, Guang Rong got this totally significant haircut at Jean Yip and now looks NOT Guang Rong like...actually it's quite nice lah.GR, no need to keep on covering with the file or else cut for what?

Later having reunion dinner at my grandmother's place. This year's Chincese New Year like not eventful like that...there's no spirit in the air...must be the economic downturn....
I must express my views on my new class...i can't keep quiet anymore...
3/1 isn't exactly the class with the best results...even if it is, so what?
After Bio practical dunno how to wipe their side of the table when it's all wet...must wipe for them. They are girls, supposed to be more skilled than guys in the kitchen and they dunno how to wipe the stupid sink?
Still comment that i look like a waiter sumore....-_-'
The treasurer...asked by the teacher to order and collect the files, but she pushed the responsiility to the whole class and troubled 42 ppl because she couldn't accept a little responsibility...like dat den dun become treasurer lah...
We have a long way to go...

Tired

Started band with sectionals. It was starting nicely when suddenly Mr. Glosz came in.(i think everybody could feel the tension rise)
Wahlao, pressure ah...of coz i just screwed up...after he left i knew every single thing he noted bout me...but what to do?So just continued normally...Jiayan is a very gd player. She picks up things very fast.Jen has a gd tone but she's not technical enough but also picks things up quickly.Currently i have no complaints about jeevan and xingwen knows his music.
Generally, every section leader had his share of bad points today-which is a bad thing. And am i supposed to let the bass clars and bari sax go to their "mother" sections namely the clarinets and saxophones? If like that then i join flutes lor, anyway how many ppl r there left?

BIG NEWS!!!

Guang Rong did a vibrato (intentionally/unintentionally?) when we were playing shenandoah.Aaron also did one on his tuba.
So gd ah...they can do vibrato. It will probably take me ten more years to do that.In the "practical hints for bassoon" bk, they say 5 things affect a gd tone.First is embrochure, second is good air support, third is reed, fourth one i forgot liao i think it's having a gd idea of a bassoon tone and the fifth one which shld be the last to develop is vibrato, being the last one which shuld only be developed at least 2 or 3 yrs after starting to play. The only one i dun have is vibrato, which i dun have an idea of how to develop on a double reed instrument at all.
My eyes are slowly closing...better go and sleep already...gd nite.

Sundae

Wealth is not what u have but what u do not need.
Very true ah...if u do not lack anything wouldn't that be considered as wealth? But as the totally boring Mdm Sabina(miss lela or any other teacher if u see this dun say ah, thanx!) will say,"Young ppl these days are selfish and materialistic."

I find sec 3 life so mechanical...every week it's the same routine...then so tired until do homework halfway and end up sleeping.
At june this yr the sec 4's will be gone and who will take over?My batch...
After my batch is gone who the heck is going to take over as lowerwinds SL?Must start looking out liao...

Got a haircut today...not bad lah...then after that went to NTUC to buy milk and guess who i saw there---Ansley.
That started me thinking...is the current sec 2 batch gonna improve enough to take over? It's only a matter of time before they will be the seniors and lead the band.
And there's the lunch time concert this Fri and premiere....will we make it in time? Our current repertoire is microscopic...
So many things to think about...
