Smile

Yar.. i'm trying to-and it's quite difficult.

Well.. Today wasn't that very good. Sigh.

At least Fantasy Variations saved the day! =)

I'm so excited by FV and I so want to blog about all those great bassoon solos that have started appearing at last! =) Those crazy top B flats which I haven't memorised from the fingering chart yet. It's so much fun doing FV! And the slow segment is a killer.. Haven't heard such beautiful passages in a long long time.

BUT! (There's always a but)

Why must there be a BUT!?

...

Anyway, the optimistic me will stay cheery and still go for that dreaded pw rehearsal tomorrow. Why must PW torture us like this!!?? Honestly it's a fantastic waste of time which sees the whole cohort of 17 year olds bullshitting for 8 months. That's almost enough time for someone to give birth!

Down..

Thanks for going back to the band room with me to get my stuff Nich and Cheuk. =)

Lightning doesn't strike that easily Nich.. Haha. Oh but darn today my world was full of stormy clouds. It sucks to scold your friends.

Need God's strength.

At least i'm getting some consolation now. =)

Been on my mind for such a long time!

Question: What's the most out-of-tune song sung in human history?

Oh yar.. my answer to that would be the quintessential birthday song.

Just those few simple words:

Happy Bursday to you, Happy Bursday to you,
Happy Bursday to *fill in the blanks*, Happy Bursday to you.

Obviously, the most off-pitch word is the 3rd "Bursday" in the song.
Come on man.. One of the most frequently sung songs in the world is horrendously out of tune?! That's unacceptable to a musician! BUT! (There's always a BUT Farah.. Haha. I still remember.) But.. what's a bursday song if it's in-tune! It's the butt-wrenching howls and ass-cringing shrieks that give this special song flavour-to the special someone who was born exactly ___ years ago.

So now.. everytime you hear a birthday song ringing in the cafe, Swensens and your nice little old neighbour's home, celebrate the joy of tone-deafness and intolerable hollering.. For the only few times where out-of-tuneness brings cheer, is when the birthday song is resounding in your ear! =)

Wooh! ok.. now i'm a poet. Haha. i'm so proud of myself.. for all the academic stuff i've achieved over the years. (i sound like a thick-skinned arrogant freak) yar.. somehow i'm just 'THERE' when the exam results come out and the 'THERE' just gets higher and higher. Thank you Lord.

But even with all this academic stuff.. it's so superficial. Good grades just prove that you know how to do the exam. Education should abolish the TYS. It's not education anymore.. it's getting all the As so your school is high on some ranking thingy.

Just realized schools are like commercial enterprises. Who earns the most profits (As) do better. Of course as an Econs student I know it's not that simple but this is just a great generalization. What's with all this ranting..

Ok back to where I was. Oh.. who knows of other severely ear-piercing, face-warping, bladder bursting out-of-tune songs?

I do have another candidate.

It's not the song in this case, but the recording of it. Wonder when
those people would actually change it to alleviate the pain of musically aware people. Just coz the BOSS (with no inkling of tuning ability) thinks it's ok that means its ok. This song is pride to so many people.. a pity that after so many years it's recording is still out of tune and not reaching its full musical potential.

Who knows the answer who knows the answer?

Jeremy and Cheuk let them guess k? =)

Oh.. have some nice quotes here which saw me through the year:

1)Like.. Totally. -Lim Jie on the podium

2)Exams can wait. -Jeremy Chan my classmate on watching 'Lost' during the exam period

3)Stupid toot pok why you send me blank sms?! -An irate msging friend

4)u black hog piggy pig pig boo -Another friend who wants to throw vulgarities at me in a nice manner

5)It was nice seeing you again -Nurzatiman Astha

6)I LOVE U ALL LIKE SHIT -My og mate, Vivian

7)Remember.. you are the bro. -Kok Hoe

8)Love ya. -Jules

9)U're never alone. -Enru

10)Salsa rawks. -JoJo Kawi

11)But not to forget studies too.. -Jeremy Tay on the focus of band members

12)Praise God! -Ada

13)You were chosen to lead the top JC band in Singapore -Ganesh

14)On ah! @#$!%^&^* -Edmund Ong

15)How's your leg? -Tim

16)... -God

I'm sure there are many more and they're all all too safely tucked in the back of my mind. Wonder when they'll pop out to say hi. Found lots of friends who truly care, in JC. Thanks the most to Dorcas and Christabel! =) Especially Dorcas.

Darn.. what's happening to my heart right now..

'Lost' is my favourite show!

RQ and JX, when you want the tuition call me k? =)

Lynnie, Os not over yet, you can call me too.

Thanks for your house Cheuk!

Saints e musica rocks! =) Saw e video.

I need to cultivate patience and be a source of joy.

Oh.. and if you're wondering why it's 'bursday' and not 'birthday' you'll have to pry into and take a peek into the best times of my life-up to now.

I'm sorry Lord, please forgive me.

I pray for the same things I pray everynight.. The path, Band, family, Friends, health.
Actually.. Aren't these all the same thing.

I thank God for my life.
